St. Botolph’s CE Academy

Key Stage 1

We have been learning about the Great Fire of London in KS1.  We are beginning to write our own diary entries
by creating freeze frames to show the diary through drama. Following this we will be writing as a character from the Historical period in time.
Year 2

We loved working with our parents to create our Christingles ready for our Christingle service in school. We carefully followed instructions to create them.

This week, Turtles have been learning to be more independent by using self marking stations and picking different apparatus to help them with addition.

On World RE Day, the children learnt about the Jewish religion. They enjoyed making a dreidel, making and eating potato latkes,  labelling a synagogue, learning about the menorah and working together as a key stage to make a synagogue.

Today, KS1 had a morning celebrating Chinese New Year. They learnt about the customs celebrated and followed during Chinese New Year.  Classes made lanterns, dragon masks, 2D dragon faces and moving dragons. They also tried Chinese curry sauce and prawn crackers. They had a fab morning!
