Assessment
At St Botolph’s C of E Academy, we endeavour to support children to achieve to the best of their abilities and reach their full potential. We believe that assessment is fundamental to being able to extend and challenge children in their learning.
Assessment serves many purposes but the main purpose in our academy, is to help teachers, parents and pupils plan their next steps in learning. On going teacher assessment is central to pupils making good progress. We use INSIGHT to track the progress of our pupils across school.
There are currently five statutory assessments and tests which schools and academies have to carry out and report to parents. These are:
-
EYFS profile (End of Reception)
-
Phonics (End of Y1)
- MTC (times tables - Y4)
-
Key Stage 1 Assessments and Tests (End of Y2)
-
Key Stage 2 SATs (End of Y6)
