St. Botolph’s CE Academy

Academy Profile

Academy Ethos

Recognizing its historic foundation,  St Botolph’s  C of E Academy will preserve and develop its religious character in accordance with the principles of the Church of England and in partnership with the Churches at parish and diocesan level.

The Academy serves its community by providing an education of the highest quality within the context of Christian beliefs and practice. It encourages an understanding of the meaning and significance of faith and promotes Christian values through the experience it offers to all its children, whilst also including elements that reflect the backgrounds of all.

Children enter the academy eager to make sense of the World. The School provides a broad and balanced curriculum that is well matched to each child’s differing needs and abilities, encompassing spiritual, moral, emotional, social, cultural, intellectual and physical development. We have created a secure, friendly atmosphere that rejoices in success, but where it is safe to make mistakes. Therefore children feel able to reach their potential, learn to value themselves and relate to others with consideration.

We aim to

  • Promote beliefs and values based on a Christian tradition which gives purpose to human life

  • Inspire a thirst for learning and encourage high expectations

  • Challenge children to develop self-confidence, good behaviour and responsibility for themselves and others, now and in the future

  • Nurture the social and emotional aspects of children’s personal development

  • Provide a broad, balanced, creative and enjoyable curriculum that is accessible for all

  • Engage the parents and community in partnership with the School and learning process

The academy values the partnership between staff, children, governors, parents, the church and the wider community and welcomes contributions from all stakeholders to fulfil the children's potential.
