St. Botolph’s CE Academy

Parent Voices

This academic year 2018-19, we are really looking at ways to further improve communication with parents and carers. We will be sending home a paper copy newletter every 2 weeks which will also be published on this website. We would also like to re-establish our parent/carer voice forum which aims to:

  • give a voice to parents/carers

  • encourage open, effective communication between parents/carers, pupils, staff and governors

  • work in partnership with the academy to create a welcoming place that is inclusive for all parents/carers

  • identify and represent the views of the parents/carers on matters affecting the education and welfare of the pupils

  • promote opportunities for parents/carers to engage in activities which support the education and welfare of pupils

The forum is:

  • a mechanism through which parents'/carers' questions, concerns and suggestions can be raised to the academy leadership and/or governing body

  • a relaxed way of understanding how the curriculum is put together with workshops to help you support your child with English and Maths

The forum will not:

  • discuss issues relating to individual pupils or parents/carers

  • discuss issues relating to individual staff

  • organise fundraising or social activities

Also, by popular demand, we will be continuing our end of term coffee mornings. These take place at 9.00am on the last Friday of each half term and parents say this is a great way to chat together over coffee and cakes support charities that have been chosen. Please come along and join us and stay for Celebration Worship which follows the coffee morning at 10.00am

EYFS Stay and Play

We have Stay and play sessions in Early Years every half term and we have received very positive feedback from parents.

'Stay and play has been a wonderful opportunity for me to come and interact with * in the nursery environment. Being able to interact with staff and share info about my child in a personal way has given an opportunity to get to know * in another way.  Love stay and play.'

'Another very enjoyable stay and play session. It’s nice to come in and be part of my child’s learning.'

'Play and stay is a fab way for families to be involved in their child’s learning though play. Build relationships with staff and families'

'Thank you for letting parents have the chance to become involved in the activities that the children do. I really enjoyed it.  All staff are very welcoming and I can’t thank them enough for making Rosie’s journey in school a happy one.'
